Look Out For Katrina The Ballerina

May 20, 2011 by

If you have followed our betting advice on SYTYCD, the portfolio is looking good. With 10 dancers left our attention turns to who, of the other dancers left in, could scupper things – it’s always best to be cautious. We remain unconvinced by Matt’s partner Charlotte. While the pair of them have received the plaudits every week, Matt is the far superior dancer and he has helped Charlotte to avoid the dance off. It is also noticeable that they have had an easy ride up to now – having the opportunity to do dance genres in their comfort zone.
Luke will now be paired with Katie and we expect this pair to bounce back with flying colours this week, after both being in the dance off last Saturday.
Bethany and Israel have formed a charismatic pairing but could suffer if drawing a tough dance number this Saturday.
Kirsty and Lee B are making up the numbers as far as we can see, and we do not see either of them having the potential to win Outright at this stage. Which leaves Katrina and Tom. Tom has been lambasted week in, week out and he looks like a dead man walking. But Katrina is the one dancer you want to get on side now.
She has been getting great comments from the panel for pulling off dance genres outside of her specialty as a ballerina. We wonder if the show likes the whole story angle of a ballerina going through the process and coming out on top. We also sense she has started to become a firm viewer favourite. We recommend taking the widely-available best price 14s on her to win, 8-1 e/w with Coral, and 6-1 to be Top Female with William Hill.
Ultimately, the winner of SYTYCD is decided entirely by the public. And the way we are reading things right now, we would hazard a guess that Matt and Israel are the two public favourites among the guys, and Katie and Katrina are the public favourites among the gals. Of course the panel still has the chance to cull whoever they want among those who drop into the dance-off and all is not lost for Luke and Bethany. There will soon come a time when the partnerships are changed which will expose Charlotte and Tom if they do not fall into the dance off tomorrow night and get eliminated.
