Gary To Go The Value Call
Dancing On Ice – Next elimination – Gary Lucy 10-1 (bet365, Blue Sq and Stan James)
What a difference a week makes. The Dancing On Ice market took an intriguing and dramatic turn last Sunday after second favourite Mikey struggled badly with his routine following a nasty fall in rehearsal, and third favourite Danniella landed in the bottom two. Meanwhile, Danny and Kieron both put in improved performances resurrecting their chances – Kieron, in particular, starting to look like the potential ‘journey’ contestant – and suddenly this series is looking wide open.
The public vote changes from week to week and is very difficult to predict pre-show, but it is fairly safe to assume Danniella should get a healthy spike in votes this coming Sunday, and if Mikey can patch himself up and put in an improved performance, he is likely to escape the bottom two as well. Only Mikey and Hayley have not featured in a skate off so far.
Mikey certainly needs to up his game, and fast, to maintain his loyal support but he will be aided by skating to a Ronan Keating song this Sunday – on the eve of Boyzone’s new album – so elimination looks to centre around Kieron, Danny and Gary.
We reckon Kieron was under-marked last Sunday and there is now very little in it between these three. Gary’s scores have plateaued whereas there is room for Kieron’s score to leap up much the way Danny’s did last Sunday. When it comes to the skate off between any of these three, it’s likely to be very close and whoever executes the cleanest routine will probably edge it.
At the respective odds, this makes it a no-brainer that Gary represents outstanding value to be next eliminated at 10-1 with bet365, Blue Sq and Stan James.
Looking at the outright market it would be prudent to back Danny at 25-1 (Betfred, Stan James and Ladbrokes) and Kieron at 20-1 (bet365, Betfred, Blue Sq and Coral).
With justifiable doubts hanging over Gary and Mikey, it is also the logical call to back Kieron at 7-1 (Blue Sq, Paddy Power, Stan James) and Danny at 8-1 (bet365, Victor Chandler, Paddy Power, Stan James) in the Top Male market.
