If you have followed the advised investments throughout 2016, it has been another bountiful 12 months for EntertainmentOdds.com.

The site advised Ukraine (25-1) to win Eurovision, Matt Terry (9-4) to win X Factor and Ore Oduba (12-1) to win Strictly, all ante-post. As the three main TV betting markets traded each year, you can’t ask for much more than that.

Eurovision 2016 subscribers enjoyed a +54.75pt profit which equated to an ROI of 30%, with Ukraine’s win, advised at 25-1 ante-post and again at 12-1 during the rehearsal fortnight, and the 1st Ukraine 2nd Australia straight forecast, advised at 40-1, among the trading highlights.

X Factor profit this year (+30pts; ROI 68%) was founded largely on the lucrative Relley C and Gifty bottom 2 and elimination bets – week 3, Relley C advised at 20-1 to be eliminated, and 6-1 to be in the bottom 2; week 4, Gifty advised at 8-1 to be eliminated, and 5-2 to be in the bottom 2.

X Factor’s week 2 buzzword bingo came up trumps when Freddy Parker, performing first, was informed by Louis ‘That song was too big for you’. This set a record as the fastest ever winning tv bet landed, and at the fruitful odds of 10-1.

Strictly profit this year was especially impressive (+56.95pts; ROI 116%) and the show again offered a steady flow of winning elimination investments, the biggest-priced of which was Tameka in the 2nd elimination market at 9-1. Lesley at 7-1 in the 4th elimination market, and Laura at 4-1 in the 6th elimination market, were a couple of other highlights, but it was the pre-lives analysis that nailed down a guaranteed bounty this year with Ore, advised at 12-1 e/w, and Louise Redknapp (Top Female, advised at 100-30) boosting the overall series profit.

The total investment in 2016 was 281.25pts, which yielded a profit of 136.7pts, equating to an ROI of 48.6%. Interestingly, this matches up virtually identically with the 2015 ROI of 49% (total investment 361.5pts, profit +177.2pts). In 2014, the ROI was 25% (total investment 499pts, profit +124.7pts).

Which means since EntertainmentOdds introduced a fully-audited, points-based system of betting recommendations at the start of 2014, the site has now made a profit of +439pts to a 1pt level stake.

So if you staked £10 per point on every advised investment over the last 3 years you would be in profit to the tune of +£4,390.

Hopefully you have enjoyed the coverage here of all the big tv betting events in 2016, it aided your trading and helped you earn a decent profit this year. A full breakdown of Strictly/XF/SPOTY investments can be seen below, along with ESC 2016 and full annual figures.

Hi Rob. Congratulations on your commendable tipping recommendations throughout 2016. This was especially impressive given the reduced number of Eurovision and Strictly markets that were on offer, and the virtually non-existent value in the Eurovision qualification markets.

I was personally sceptical on how well Jamala and Louise Redknapp would do on the public vote, so I am pleased that I followed your judgement!

  2. Thanks for all the great coverage again Rob – really enjoyed it.

    All the best for 2017.

Thank you Rob for showing how to analyze TV shows and bet on it. This has become my new favorite hobby. Eurovision is now the most anticipated event of the year for me. I even started to bet on X factor last year because I saw that my Eurovision knowledge can also be applied there. This is so much fun!

Thanks guys. Very happy with the profitability of my analysis over the last 3 years & it confirms the value approach pays off. But as you all know you can never rest on your laurels investing in the tv betting markets, and Eurovision, in particular, is always evolving. The profit you earn from trading is always hard won.

I was looking back on my initial ESC 2016 pre-rehearsals analysis. Reminds me that first impressions are very important and to try and resist the ‘bubble’ that builds up when you are in the press centre watching rehearsals.

Will be very happy if my ESC 2017 analysis is anywhere near as accurate as this: https://entertainmentodds.com.cp-uk-2.webhostbox.net/wp.cp-uk-2.webhostbox.net/wp/eurovision-song-contest/does-anyone-know-serhat/

Happy new year to all 🙂
