The Walking Dead

There is a 40-minute clash with Strictly tonight which might well be used by TPTB to hamper early starters.
To clarify this weekend’s X Factor semi-final format, according to a Tellymix article: ‘On Saturday night contestants will be celebrating the best of British music with the theme ‘Cool Britannia’. At the end of the show the acts will face the public vote and one will be eliminated. The remaining five will go forward to Sunday’s show where they’ll sing again, with the theme expected to be ‘Songs To Get You In The Final’.
The Cutkelvins are again being given the chance to sing one of their own songs tonight. Given it has been a season-long theme to give plaudits to those performing original material this suggests they will likely receive enough praise to avoid last place on the public vote tonight and might even, whisper it, be given the pimp slot.
No doubt Lloyd will power out ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’ competently and receive praise up until Cowell adds his disclaimer. It is a safe, classic track which will give room for Cowell to point out how Lloyd is in his comfort zone and perhaps lacks relevance as an artist.

Based on song choice, tonight’s elimination looks most likely to lie between the two remaining Overs, Kevin and Matt. What odds they will be among the early starters? The Beatles vs The Rolling Stones has long been a question said to define the kind of person you are. Kevin will no doubt bring his guitar but it is a bit of a lifeless track lacking any moment.
‘Gimme Shelter’ certainly offers the chance for Matt to sell it with some swagger. And based on their respective treatment last week Matt appeared to be favoured with Kevin enduring some significant vote dampening. A ‘Cool Britannia’ theme possibly counts against Kevin too, especially given the unsubtle signposting of Kevin from France last week.
But as we have seen series-long it is pretty much a firing squad lottery among the unwanted acts this year with those escaping the bullet merely limping through to the next round, awaiting their execution.

Will we have a final 4 of those who can write their own songs, or will it be a final 4 conveniently offering one act from each category, and also the 4 prize winners? The dying embers of hope for Cutkelvins backers is hoping it’s the former but your head tells you it will much more likely be the latter.
Despite The Cutkelvins catering to a different audience to Rak-Su, Cowell appears so dead set on promoting Rak-Su and ensuring they win this series he will probably pull the trigger on The Cutkelvins tomorrow night.
We know from Grace’s YT clips she has performed Life On Mars previously and she should be warmly praised for her rendition.
Rak-Su could sing The Tweets ‘Birdie Song’ and be lauded so there are no worries they have been given a somewhat obscure choice.
Tonight’s semi-final songs:
GROUPS
Rak-Su: Flowers – Sweet Female Attitude
The Cutkelvins: Nothing Like You – The Cutkelvins
BOYS
Lloyd Macey: Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me – Elton John
GIRLS
Grace Davies: Life On Mars – David Bowie

Kevin Davy White: Come Together – The Beatles
Gimme Shelter – The Rolling Stones
Another great article. You are definitely the number one site for XFactor analysis these days. Much more focussed and insightful than your rivals.
