What Katie Did Next
X Factor is as good as impossible to predict ahead of watching the live shows and seeing how Cowell and his cronies decide to play it with their comments.
Song choice, running order… all you can do is second guess how things look set to play out. One thing we’re pretty sure about is that Katie Waissel has been teed up as the contestant the public are meant to loathe in this series, at least to begin with.
She messed up her auditions and still got through, she has kept Gamu out of the competition, blah, blah, blah. X Factor thrives on this sort of controversy which tells us Katie is likely to hang around for a good few weeks. So our first advice would be to lay Katie as short as you can on Betfair in the first elimination market.
Rumour has it she is up last, which is always the best slot, and is singing ‘We Are The Champions’, supposedly her fave song as she requested to sing it in the audition.
Katie could yet turn public opinion around and become the redemption story of the series. With talk of a recording contract in the US, she might just turn in something exceptional, and could prove a bit of a ringer, so she is also worth backing on the Outright at a generally available 33-1, as she could well trade a lot shorter after tonight, offering an easy lay.
Cowell looks like he is keen to win this series with a group so we would also recommend taking the 5-1 One Direction with Betfred and bwin. And for Cowell to be the winning manager at 3-1 with bodog and William Hill.
